Case study
Apex Cycles
A demo bike store with three interactive sections you could add to your own store: a product grid that reveals lifestyle photos, a product video that plays as visitors scroll, and a homepage cover they can rip away. All three work on Shopify's free Dawn theme, without changing its core files.

The idea
Many stores on a free theme end up looking alike. I started with a bike store on an unchanged Dawn theme and added three interactive sections to make it feel premium. Each one is its own section, so you can add or remove it on its own, and theme updates stay safe.
1. Modern Product Grid
Product cards with custom shapes and a glowing border on hover. Hovering also reveals the product in use, so shoppers can picture it on themselves. The lifestyle photo is just the product's second image, so there's nothing extra to set up.
2. Product Showcase Scroll
Your product video plays frame by frame as visitors scroll, while up to three callouts point out key features. It shows off details that photos miss. On phones, and for visitors who prefer less motion, it switches to a still-image layout.
3. Tearable Page Cover
A full-screen image on your homepage that hangs like fabric. Visitors drag to rip it apart and reveal the store underneath, and it ends on an offer card, like a discount code. It's a memorable way to launch a sale or a new collection.
What you can expect
- Every feature starts with a written plan, then goes through numbered rounds of testing before it reaches your store.
- Everything is editable in the Shopify theme editor, so you can change text and images yourself without calling me.
- When something breaks, I find the real cause with browser tests before fixing it, instead of guessing.
